I am a lifelong student of yoga and have been teaching since 2013 when I became a RYT200 (certified, registered yoga teacher). Since then I’ve gone on to become an E-RYT500 (experienced registered yoga teacher). This means I have completed over 500 hours of yoga training and can now certify yoga teachers through Yoga Alliance.
While living in the U.S. I completed a Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors program at Duke University which helped me understand how to make yoga a safe practice especially for those of us who have range of motion issues, or limitations of any kind.
In 2017, I rounded out my knowledge and experience by becoming a Certified Holistic Nutritionist which I believe compliments my yogic principals and lifestyle. Our yoga principles teach us to honor ourselves. We do this by nourishing our bodies, mind and spirit through daily asana (physical yoga practice), eating healthy foods, and by calming the thought waves of the mind allowing for increased knowledge and learning and by displaying loving kindness in all that we do.
I moved from the U.S. to Costa Rica in 2018 to live my dream. I co-own and operate a beautiful boutique yoga retreat center in the lush, peaceful, tropical jungles of Costa Rica – Mango Tree Villas and Retreats
We invite you to join us regardless of your practice level. If you have a desire to become the Yoga Teacher You’ve always wanted to be – join us say ‘YES” and live your dream!
Johanna was raised in a yoga community. By the age of 5 she was taking adult yoga classes with her mother and was taught the Transcendental Meditation Technique for Children.
